monfatras: Nosferatu le vampire de F. Murnau The very first time the sun melts a vampire on screen. Murnau was one of the best silent film directors in Germany. He’s portrayed in the satire about the making of Nosferatu, “Shadow of the Vampire,” as a bit kinky. While not technically expressionist, his films came out of the same environment that birthed expressionism.
